The Janani Project aims at providing housing at affordable cost to low-paid labourers, workers and employees in the State who are unable to own a house/flat of their own due to the high market prices and allied difficulty in availing housing loans. These familiesare often left with no choice but to remain in rented accommodation throughout their lives and the increasing rent rates have become an added burden on them.
The Government of Kerala and particularly the Department of Labour and Skills has identified affordable housing for low-paid labourers, workers and employees in the State as a key requirement for their wellbeing and also the balanced and sustainable growth of the State.
The Janani Project of BFK will provide the affordable well-built independent housing (houses/ flats) of around 600 Square Feet and provide interest subsidy for the housing loans. The Project is being implemented under a Public Private Partnership Model. The beneficiaries will be selected as per pre-set criteria and availability for booking will be publically announced.
BFK is in the process of identifying suitable Schemes under the Janani Project across Kerala.
